National Training workshop on Assessing Climate Change Impacts on Health 7-9 Nov 2009

A 3 days national training workshop on assessing climate change impacts on health will be held from 7th to 9th of November with the support of World Health Organization, Regional Centre of Environmental Health. Mr Simon Hale, Climate change expert, WHO, Headquarter will facilitate this course in addition to our local expertise. The purposes of this workshop are:
1- Raise awareness of the need to protect health from climate change within and outside the health sectors
2- Advocate for coordinated multidisplinary action to protect health from climate change
3- Elaborate a national framework for action to protect health from climate change
4- Identify capacity building requirements at the national level for implementation of the national framework.
The venue of the workshop is Hotel Muscat Holiday (Sur Ball Room).
