Health of community can be affected by the pattern of water, sanitation and hygiene system. Water-related diseases are creating a heavy burden on international health system especially in developing countries. Around 80% of infectious diseases are caused by water-related diseases. Around 4 billion cases of diarrhea are caused by water-related diarroheal diseases resulting in 3-4 million death per year mostly among children(WHO 2007).
Objectives
- Established a database about water quality and water-related diseases.
- Reduce the morbidity of water-related diseases
- Evaluation and monitoring of water safety with other concerned sectors
- Conduct research to study the water quality and incidence of related diseases in order to identify and eliminate the etiological factors and preventing their occurrences
- Increase Public Awareness about water related diseases and prevention measures.
